County Judge Don Trumble stated shelters are assigned by the Corps of Engineers and are for use when away from one’s own shelter. Funeral services for William McKay 75 were held at 2 30 pm Wednesday from Marek Burns Funeral Chapel with Eddie Meyers officiating. Burial followed at Rice Cemetery. Born July 29 1887 in Gonzales County he died Tuesday at 2 am in an Austin Hospital. He was a Church of Christ member. Surviving him are one son Jeff of Hearne four brothers John Tom Henry Abe and two sisters Frances Springer Irene Merchant Mary Cowdray seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
