Mrs. Virginia Sanders of Cameron has been appointed Deputy Grand Matron District 4 Section 6 of the Order of Eastern Star in Texas. The announcement came Thursday November 25 at the Grand Chapter session in San Antonio by Worthy Grand Matron Flora Bessi Boone of Littlefield. Approximately 200 reserved seats go on sale at 7:00 A M Thursday at Yee High School office of Superintendent W T Hanes. Seats in section E on Cameron side near the 40 yard line cost $1.00 tax included. If unsold at school, remaining tickets will be sold Thursday night at the Athletic Field during the B team game.

Three Arts Club Hosts City Clubs At Silver Tea
The Three Arts Club hosted other city clubs and guests at a Cameron County Club Silver Tea on Thursday October 25 from 3 30 to 5 P M. Mrs Billie Reno chaired the event assisted by club members. In the receiving line were Mrs Pete Colburn president Dale Cheeves vice president and Mrs Grace Davis secretary. Eighty two guests attended. Tables featured pink roses on wine colored cloth. Mrs Davis introduced Mrs G W Brindley Sr of Temple who reviewed Man and Superman by George Bernard Shaw. Mrs Colburn led at the punch table.

Prominent Milam County Matron Dies in Cameron
Mrs. John Hrozek 62 of Cameron died Sunday October 28 at St. Edward Hospital after a period of illness following surgery in Houston. Born December 8, 1888 at Marak, she was the daughter of the late Barbara and Steve Marak. Funeral at St Monica Catholic Church Tuesday October 30 at 9 A M with Rev. George Duda. interment St Monica Cemetery. Survived by husband John Hrozek three sons Steve Ladis Erwin all of Cameron three daughters Angelina Mondrick Judith Duffey Velasco nine sisters and ten grandchildren.
