Donations For Sign Fund To Be Painted On City Water Tower
114 donations will fund a three foot painted sign on the Cameron water tower reading Cameron Home of the Fighting Yeomen. Jim Spooner the painter will donate labor and materials to cover costs while the sign will be visible for miles as donations support the project. Atty Gen John Hill spoke in Cameron to the Central Texas Peace Officers Association about consumer protection and law enforcement as the state’s first lawyer. Almost 200 officers attended. Over 100 children attended a puppet show at Cameron Public Library by Doris Goodrich Jones of Waco, the largest turnout for the library Friends program since 1966.

Graham Construction Co. resumes work on the city storm drainage project after a two week halt. About 450 feet of pipe remains to be installed through solid rock on Eighth Street and Milam as crews lay pipe in nine foot ditches while cleanup proceeds along the route to the park. The concrete drainage box at the ravine city park is finished and paving along Crockett Street is planned. the contract began in November with no firm completion date.
