Died Suddenly at Read Ranch Near City
Frank M. Meyers died at the Read Ranch family residence about 9 o clock Thursday morning from acute dysentery after several weeks of poor health. He fell ill after eating fish Wednesday evening and declined rapidly, leaving a devoted wife four children and many friends.

Beaty pleads guilty to murder in Marlin court
Bounce Beaty confessed and pleaded guilty in Fifty fourth district court at Marlin on May 15 1914 to the murder of John Richey. Richey was killed in 1913 with beheading and body found near Marlin. Beaty received a life sentence. Three men faced trial Reed Wyers and Beaty Wyers convicted and sentenced to hang. Wyers case affirmed and Reed serving life.
