Graduation Night 1914 High School Exercises Held

Heavy rainfall did not dampen the Graduation Night program for the Class of 1914 in the High School Auditorium. Dr. W A Gillon gave the invocation, followed by the Senior Glee Club under Miss Brougher. Salutatorian Miss Jewell Joslin praised future effort, and Mr O L Kidd urged diligence in vocation. The Class Orator Mr Frank Cooper spoke on The Peaceful Triumphs of Our Army. Diplomas were presented by A W Taber with scholarships by Prof J Batts. twenty eight diplomas and one scholarship were awarded. Valedictorian Miss Mabel Caldwell received top honors and the D A medal for American Distinction, ending with the annual The Cam-Hi celebration.

Bridge Bond Passage Boosts Local Roads Authority

Elections in beat four and parts of beat five supported a road bond covering routes from Rockdale to Tracy Cobb and beyond. City Council Holds Regular Session in Cameron

Tuesday afternoon the Cameron city council met with all members present. Bills allowed include several local firms and utilities. The Board of Equalization proposed reforms to tax assessment practices and asked for clearer parcel blueprints to ensure fair taxation. A road-improvement petition from J C Mayfield was read and referred to the street committee. The session adjourned with no further business.

Protracted Meeting Planned at Methodist Church

Evon reports the protracted meeting at the Methodist church will be held Friday night before the third Sunday in June. Rev. C. C. Gaston will conduct it with possible outside help and both churches will coordinate Sunday schools.
