Milam county Memorial Day services are set for Sunday afternoon May 30 in Cameron at 3 p m. Edwin Hardy Post No 9 announced the event to be held in the hut at Willson Ledbetter Park with Rev Mur chison of Minerva delivering the main address. Cameron Band Fetes Director and Family at Ada Henderson Banquet

Opening day draws crowd to Bluebonnet Cafe
Fred Jackson announced the Blue Bonnet Cafe opened with a large turnout. About 1500 people were served Friday with free coffee and cake offered during three periods. Maxwell House supplied coffee and Cameron Maid Bakery provided the cakes. Jackson praised the improvements.

Negro Shot in Seed House Dice Game Near Cameron Plant
Washington McCoy, 33, was shot in the back and killed during a dice game in a seed house near Cameron Cotton Oil Company plant around 6 p.m. Saturday. Obhie Seaton, a white foreman, was arrested and faced murder charges on Monday with $4,000 bail after a hearing. A court of inquiry was held by local officials.
