Legion members visit Milam County graves on Memorial Day to lay wreaths for World War I comrades. The piece honors fallen soldiers, recalls 1917 battles, and praises Jim Ferguson's political following in Texas amid large campaign crowds and public devotion.

The Triggs Dry Goods Company will open the greatest sale of its career on Saturday May 29. A double page advertisement in this issue of the Herald announces the opening and highlights stock from Gilmer now in Cameron offered at sale prices.
May 9 marks the birth of a boy to Mr and Mrs Cecil Easterwood at 19 Seagril Avenue Santa Cruz California. The newborn has been named Cecil J Easterwood Jr and joins the Friends in Cameron of Cecil Haster wood in the family circle.
The note accuses Gregory Hatcher and S M N Marrs of betraying the administration and bolstering Moody. It forecasts a genuine political awakening across Texas amid shifts in support and party alignment.
Thousands gather at a Sulphur Springs tabernacle as Miriam A Ferguson and Jim Ferguson open their Texas campaign. The crowd fills the venue, with farm women prominent, and the speakers attack Moody while praising past administration and highway policy. Southland Life Insurance Company announced that its morning Radio Exercise Program on Friday June 4 will be dedicated to Cameron. The exercises air on WFAA Dallas weekdays 6:30 to 7:30 and reach about 45 000 listeners. The Cameron dedication will precede the second exercise period at 6:50 AM.
Milam County young men are accepted for the Citizens Military Training Camp at Fort Sam Houston. A. F. Mitchell and Cameron officials stated free physicals and recruitment support. Names listed include Butler J T, Graves F, Mondiik L M, Murray A L, Posey J M, Slocomb N H, Walker M A, Williamson R E and others from Cameron and Gause.
St Monica's Catholic Church announces Sunday May 30 a class of children will receive their first Holy Communion. Early Mass at 7 a m High Mass at 9 a m Weekday Holy Mass at 1 p m Rev Geo Apel is pastor.
Commissioner John Heigket t is ill and unable to attend Friday dedication for the new bridge over the Little River. The May 28 ceremony may be postponed. Bickett suffers a stroke at his San Antonio home. A tourist park and swimming beach opening are tied to the big day, with an 8 o'clock bathing revue.
Abe Claxton, an elderly man imprisoned in Cameron for over a year, has had his murder conviction for Otto Junek upheld after a rehearing following a prior reversal. He received 25 years for killing J M McAlpine, while a separate case for shooting Mrs. McAlpine remains untried. the affirmation means he will begin serving the sentence.
Milam County Legion members will place wreaths on war dead graves Sunday May 30 in rural and town cemeteries. Monuments provided by the government will be erected at several sites with more planned. The post seeks location information on unmarked or unknown graves and lists known decorated sites and names of those honored.
