Died at 88 Cameron native G W Clore remembered

G W Clore 88 a longtime Cameron resident and local figure died Tuesday May 20 1941 at his home. Funeral services were held May 21 at Green Funeral Home with interment in Oak Hill Cemetery. Surviving are his widow son Lee R Clore and daughter Mrs Moody Hays.

Mrs. Tom Rogers Buried in Milano Services

Funeral services for Mrs. Tom Rogers of Cameron were held at 4 p m Sunday in Milano. She died Saturday and had resided in the county for many years. Her husband Tom Rogers, a farmer and pioneer, survives them without children. The funeral was directed by Phillips Luckey of Rockdale.

Tracy Hobson Burial in Marlow Cemetery

Funeral services for Tracy Hobson, longtime local businessman, were held at 3 p m Monday May 12 1941 at the Baptist church in Marlow. Interment followed in Marlow cemetery. Hobson died Saturday May 10 around 3 p m after years of declining health from a heart attack. He was associated with the W S Lamkin interests and managed the Marlow mercantile. Rev C W Sanders of Cameron conducted the services with pallbearers Ted Kuehl J S Bragg Fred Williamson John McLerran Jr Grady Cooper B Slocomb Gus Evans and H L Heath.

Mrs Lizzie Tidwell Dies at Home in Gause

Funeral services for Mrs Lizzie Tidwell of Gause were held at 4 30 p m Sunday in Gause with Phillips Luckey Funeral Home of Rockdale directing. She was 80. Her husband John Tidwell, a former prominent Waco resident, had died years ago.

West Point Graduate Gillis to Wed Lenore Riley in Junction City

William G. Gillis a West Point graduate will marry Miss Lenore Riley of Junction City on June 28 in Junction. The couple announced at a tea hosted by Mrs. W P Riley the bride’s mother. Gillis the son of Judge and Mrs Graham Gillis of Cameron and a former captain of the West Point football team will hold the rank of Second Lieutenant in the U S Army after graduation on June 15.

Rex Lowe Receives Roscoe Wilson Scholarship at Texas Tech

Rex Lowe of Cameron, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Lowe, is awarded the Roscoe Wilson Memorial Scholarship in foreign languages at Texas Technological College in Lubbock. The undergraduate honor provides $30 monthly for nine months starting September 1941, with Lowe also serving as president of Capa V Espada next year and previously assisting in the foreign language department. Dr. Charles B. Qualia presented the award.

Well Known Cameron Citizen Dies After Heart Attack

Tracy Hobson a prominent Milam county resident died at his Cameron home Saturday afternoon from a heart attack. He was about 60 and had been ill for years. Funeral plans pending with Green Funeral Home. services likely Sunday at a local church. Survived by wife Bertha Lamkin Hobson and three daughters and a son. Hobson formerly ran a large general merchandise store with W S Lamkin and retired about six years ago.
