Coffield Buys Houston War Plant at Clinton Drive

H H Coffield of Rockdale purchased the government built Reed transmission plant at 4600 Clinton Drive for 677777 dollars in cash. Designated Plancor 537 the facility includes manufacturing and warehouse space with Veterans Administration and Reed Zoller Bit Company leases. Coffield plans to operate it as a general warehouse. The government reserves the right to repossess the plant in a national emergency.

Cameron Veterans Plan New 30 by 70 Foot Club Building

Cameron War Veterans groups including the American Legion and VFW voted to construct a 30 by 70 foot building at an undetermined site. The facility would house veteran activities and serve as a club room. Roy Vaughan outlined the plan at a recent Daily Herald briefing. The project has been in the works for several years.

Terry Thompson Dies in Amarillo Large Panhandle Rancher

News came from Cameron that Terry Thompson Sr. of Amarillo died Wednesday. He was among the Panhandle region’s largest ranchers. His widow, formerly Georgia Sneed, is daughter of Tyre and Lilian Sneed and a first cousin to Judge Dan Tyson.

About 60 Waco business men on two buses arrive in Cameron at 12 45 p m Wednesday June 2 for the goodwill tour promoting the Baylor Bear Club Rodeo.
