The first shipment of 1937 Agricultural Conservation checks arrived Friday May 13 1938 in the county office. Only 1465 of 3000 expected checks have been received with a shipment totaling 156345.13 dollars. Producers awaiting notices travel to the office only to find their checks have not yet arrived. Farm Accident Leaves Max McClaren Injured
Max McClaren sustained a severe head injury on a farm last Thursday afternoon when his foot caught in a cultivator wheel while avoiding a ravine as mules ran away. He was unconscious, revived, and is now resting comfortably at his country home. Doctor Eduard Rischar at Cameron Hospital attributed a concussion to the wheel whipping his body to the ground. recovery will require several weeks of rest and treatment.
