The Sidurians entertained at the Gillons’ home with masked guests in fancy dress. Cornelia Wallace and Louise Gillon welcomed everyone, a guessing cards game followed, and the "Little Red Riding Hood" and "Alice in Wonderland" themes sparked merriment. Mr. Jack Adams hosted a class party last Friday with a fern lined home, Larkspur flowers, and fruit. Ada Henderson helped entertain while Helen McComb and Cecil Bouchee were captains. A diploma tied with purple and white ribbons was won by Claud Triggs who unrolled it to reveal a candy stick. The event included a Blue Back Spelling match and cake and ice cream in class colors.

Death of Milam County Pioneer Nicholas B Turnham
Nicholas B Turnham died May 5 1916 in Cameron Texas aged 61 after a life spanning Milam and Midland. He was born August 8 1854 near Cameron, had a brief marriage in 1883 to Mollie Gray, spent years in cattle ranching in the west, and returned to Milam before burial beside his wife in Rice School House cemetery. He is survived by sister Mrs Susan McCown.
