A short, humorous sketch describes a man who is not a plumber and the misadventures of fixing a clogged wash basin. A neighbor lends a pipe wrench, the elbow pipe comes loose, and a cascade of old toothpaste caps and bobby pins spills out as the scene unfolds.
An account recalls a pipe mishap that flooded the bathroom as water ran and a scream echoed. The wife laughed uncontrollably while a friend admitted a pipe wrench mishap, ending with a humorous confession that the episode cleanses the writer of conscience.
Albert McCullin Jr of Cameron is named passenger and bus express agent. The Cameron bus terminal opens at Mack's Oil Co on US 77 Underpass with schedules unchanged. Ten buses serve Cameron daily linking to other Texas points. Milam Hotel had housed the terminal for 25 years.
Cameron Country Club will host about 150 golfers Sunday for the 32nd annual CCC Invitational Men's Golf Tournament. Tournament chairman Dr. C G Swift said play starts at 8 am and the event draws players from Central Texas towns including Waco Killeen Bryan Hearne Austin Temple and Rockdale with prizes for first second and third places.
Four people injured in a two car collision three miles north of Cameron are listed in satisfactory condition by Newton Hospital. Mrs Harold Daniels of Temple and Mr and Mrs Joel Thompson of Waco and their son Phillip were hospitalized after their cars collided at FM 485 and US 77. The Thompsons other son Johnny was treated for scratches and released. Highway Patrolman Gilbert Smith said Mrs Daniels car traveling east on FM 485 was struck when the Thompsons crossed US 77, demolishing both cars. Smith said Mrs Daniels would probably be charged with failure to yield right of way, pending talks with her. Harold Daniels arrived Saturday from Fort Polk Louisiana where he serves with the 49th Armored Division.
Two men Monday were assess ed a total of eight years in the State Penitentiary in Milam District Court. District Judge W. C. Wallace assessed a term of four years for Ted Eugene Gardner upon a plea of guilty to burglarizing the home of Vernon Aldridge, of Rockdale And George Joseph Mata drew two-year terms upon a finding of guilty of burglary and felony theft. Mata, fourth in a group charged with burglary of the George Triggs Store at Sharp, also entered a plea of guilty. Dist. Atty Jack Prescott reported.
Miss Miller of Rockdale and Bobby Jones of Cameron, juniors at Rockdale and Yee High Schools, won the Milam County Farm Bureau Citizenship Youth Program. They will receive an all expense paid July trip to the Youth Citizenship Seminar at Oklahoma Christian College in Oklahoma City July 9–13. Dorothy Solomon, Kenneth Unnasch, and Shirley Lehmann also competed. piano selections were performed by Sarah and Ann Arthur.
The Bloodmobile will be in Cameron on Friday for its regular visit. The quota is 70 pints, requiring about 96 donors to meet it. Local churches civic groups and two Cameron businesses are helping fill the quota, with the machine stationed at the First Methodist Fellowship Hall from 12 noon to 6 p.m.
The Milam County 1960 Housing Census reports 8,858 housing units with 7,085 occupied. Of these, 4,847 owner occupied at a median value of 5,400 dollars. Rented units totaled 3,? with various utilities and amenities detailed including air conditioning 1,296 and televisions 4,965.

About 200 residents of Milam County have entered slogans in Cameron Texas for the Cameron Chamber of Commerce contest. A June 1 tentative deadline is set, with the winner to receive a full day named in their honor, a proclamation, a plaque, news recognition, and a $10 prize at the March 1963 chamber banquet.
Joseph F. Salach died May 10 at 6 30 p m in a local hospital at age 74. He was born June 25 1887 in Czechoslovakia and lived in the Meeks community 47 years. Funeral services were held Saturday at 3 p m at Ocker Brethren Church with Rev Frank Sim cik officiating, burial in Ocker Cemetery. Survivors include his wife Bessie and three brothers and four sisters. He was a member of Ss P J S T Lodge and Yarrellton Masonic Lodge. Marek Burns Funeral Home handled arrangements.
Mrs Ethel Mae Burrough died Saturday at 830 am in a local hospital. Born March 28 1891 she was 71 and had lived in Cameron five years. Services were held Sunday at 3 pm from First Baptist Church Richland Springs, with interment in Richland Springs Cemetery. Survivors include husband Henry. sons Buster Brown of Lockhart Nelson Brown of Corpus Christi. step sons Will Frank Burrough of Rockdale Julius Burrough of Springfield Oregon. daughters Mrs Clyde Woods Mrs Homer Sanford Mrs J C Edmundson and Mrs C B Woods Jr all of San Saba County. step daughter Mrs Betty Brown of Lubbock. brothers Earl Buddy Alvie Elmer Charlie and Tommie Cook. 15 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Milam County Republicans met Saturday night at Ben Milam School Cafetorium Cameron with about 25 delegates. Temporary chair Jack W. Tomlinson presided as James E. Juckey became permanent chair and Stuart Perkins secretary. Delegates to the state convention in Fort Worth September 18 were Dr. E. O. Smith Jr Edwin Lehman and James E Luckey with alternates D D White Sr Lloyd Albertson and James Kahler. Delegates also voted on 15 resolutions for the state convention.
The Cameron City Council heard a four member library delegation seek a 900 per year operating budget for 1962 63 and approved a 1509 sewer line extension in Northeast Cameron. Officials plan to review the library budget with the new fiscal year.
Mrs Walter Lucas Sr died at 12 20 a m Tuesday in a local hospital. She was 73 born March 26 1889 in Centerville and had lived in Cameron 17 years. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 pm with Rev Dean Dein and Rev J A Harvey officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery. Surviving are her husband Walter Lucas Sr a daughter Mrs C Locklin Boling Texas seven grandchildren and one great grandchild was in charge of arrangements.
Milam County Democrats approved three resolutions and named a 16 member delegation to the El Paso convention on September 18. John Henderson Jr chaired the delegation with John Weed as State Rep Nominee. alternates were listed. a fourth resolution on textbooks was tabled as not germane.
