Perkins Appointed Brand Inspector for Texas Cattle Raisers

Jim Perkins named brand inspector for the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, covering Brazos through Walk r counties. George Banzhaf Reinstated as Milam County Farm Agent

George Banzhaf resumes the Milam County Farm Agent role in Cameron as J W Stufflebene leaves for Navy service. Banzhaf, the oldest active county agent in America, has served Milam for over 40 years and will hold the post until a successor is chosen. He returns to assist amid wartime demands.

Milano Surpasses 7th War Loan Quota by Over 3000

Milano residents subscribed $15,850 to the 7th war loan, exceeding the $12,800 quota. County finance director Dan Tyson reports schools aided with $4,500 in bonds under Superintendent Hinton H. Sgt Albert Svetlik of Buckholts Texas serves in England at an Air Service Command depot. He worked on nearly every combat and transport aircraft in the European Theater as 1944 output hit an all time high. He is a May 1943 recruit overseas for about 15 months and is the son of Mr and Mrs L Svetlik Rt 2 Buckholts.

Capt Clarence Hewitt earns Bronze Star for meritorious service in operations against the enemy. Mrs Pat Tracy Dies in Houston After Illness

Mrs Pat Tracy formerly of Cameron died at her Houston home on May 10 1945 after a year and a half illness. News reached Cameron relatives by phone. She was the daughter of C F Spiller pioneer of Cameron and is survived by her father and four sisters including Mrs Dick Batte Mrs R A Young of Alta Loma Mrs J J Bayard of Del Rio and Mrs I C Bell of Dallas. Funeral services planned in Houston.

Clinic for Crippled Children Clinic at College Station

A clinic for crippled children will be held at College Station Hospital, A and M College, on Wednesday, May 23. County superintendent Chas. M. Hicks announced the event citing a letter from W. T. Lofland, Chief Supervisor of Crippled Children's Division. Sponsored by the State Health Department, Dr. G. W. N. Eggers and Dr. Lewis Didder of John Sealy Hospital will serve as examining therapeutic surgeons. Parents are urged to see Mr. Hicks about bringing children to the clinic.

War Department informs Mr and Mrs Charlie Worcester that their son Sgt William Worcester age 32 is missing in action since April 25 1945 in Germany. He served with Gen Alexander Patch s 7th Army after transfers from Tank Destroyer Division. He is survived by his wife in Weatherford and two sisters in Cameron and Marlin.
