Beloved Cameron Citizen Fred Henry Dead at 63
Fred Henry a longtime Cameron resident and active fraternal leader died at 2:30 PM Sunday May 13 1928 at his Cameron home after years of ill health. Survived by wife and children Phillis Henry of Hillsboro and Dr Harvey Henry of Luling, the funeral was held May 14 with Knights of Pythias honors. Henry born October 8 1864 in Plattsmouth Nebraska lived in Waco and Cameron and studied in German universities before marrying Pauline Mueller in 1893 and Alvina Schade in 1925. He belonged to 22 fraternal groups and served as Milam Lodge No 125 keeper of Records and Seal.

Pioneer Frank Kristoff Sr. Dies at 82 in Burleson County
Funeral services were held for Frank Kristoff Sr. 82 a Burleson county pioneer farmer born 1846 in Czechoslovakia who came to America at 20 and settled in 1888. Rev Frank H Hérak officiated burial followed at Chriesman chapel cemetery. Survived by Frank Kristoff Jr Joseph Kristoff and three daughters Mrs J J Wotipka Mrs J Fijstoff and Mrs Joe J Dusek all of Burleson county and Miss Mary Kristoff of Cameron.

Commencement exercises were held Saturday night May 12 at Cameron Hospital for the graduation of Miss Laura Dodd Miss Mae Good and Miss Lexie Hilton from the school of nursing The program included March vocal solo address and talks by Mrs Kathryn K Robbins Miss Dietrick of El Paso educational secretary for training schools for nurses in Texas and presentations of diplomas by Dr W R Newton The speeches were praised as interesting and among the best features of the program

Lud Williams, a noted criminal lawyer based in Waco and known in Cameron, died suddenly at his Cameron home early Tuesday May 15, 1928. He was 58, a native of Texas and among the first graduates of the University of Texas law department.

Boy Scouts under Joe Matula push a week of progress in Cameron. A Wednesday hike drew 100 percent attendance. several boys passed semaphore code tests. Third patrol finished with leaders chosen. fourth patrol to form up to 32 youths. First class tests completed. badges to be awarded at Court of Honor. Monday 8 pm held a social at the Methodist church with 40 in attendance. seven new members initiated. Next regular meeting Monday at 4 50 pm with more initiations and Dr. A S Epperson to speak on first aid. Court of Honor planned for June with a public surprise. City issues 13 year warrants for street paving debt
Cameron city council issues warrants at five percent interest for 65000 to fund street paving in 923 with annual 5000 payments. Warrants carry seven and a quarter percent yield, sold to H C Burt Company for a 1625 premium. city also paid bond buyers 625 cash and issued a 1000 warrant. City plans longer term securities due to treasury needs for improvements.

May luncheon honors visiting chapters in Cameron
The Dp A R Chapters held a May 12 luncheon at the Cameron country club with honored guests from the William Scott chapter of Bryan the Daniel Coleman chapter of Georgetown and the Bettie Martin chapter of Temple. Decorations featured pink and purple larkspur and pink roses with baskets of flowers around the porch. Guests registered in a guest book by Mrs. McIntosh and were guided to a dining room with thirteen tables set in snowy linens and May Pale green centers.
