Owens Refining Company Drives Milam Oil Prosperity
Milam County gains rapid development from 4500 barrel Minerva refinery led by John S. Owens of Ardmore Oklahoma. The plant spurred pipelines into Cameron and broader Texas markets, making gasoline and oils and boosting local wealth and employment. The piece credits Owens for field growth and local cooperation with Cameron City backing the venture. It notes ongoing public notices and a memorial obituary for Mrs. Sallie Turnham McKim.
