Pastor Called At Buckholts Church

Man Killed in Collision Near Rogers

Ladis Zavrel of Buckholts died after losing control of his car and colliding with a pickup on Highway 190 three miles east of Rogers. Royland Humphrey of Houston injured, in fair condition at Temple hospital. Funeral held at St. Monica’s Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Head Start Classes Start June 9 In Cameron District

Cameron Head Start will be the only summer school program this year due to low prior interest. Three sections are set to begin June 9 with 16 students per section, and a fourth section may be added for five year olds if funding is approved. Superintendent D. R. Last Rites Held For L. J. Matula in Cameron

L. J. Matula died of an apparent heart attack at his Cameron home. A WWII Navy veteran and bookkeeper for Texas Power and Light, he lived in Cameron all his life and served the local fire department. Funeral at St. Monica with military honors. Survived by wife Edna, mother Mary, son L. J. Jr, daughter Pat, siblings, and in laws.
