A Cameron oil venture forms the Cameron Oil and Refining Company with Wm Henderson as president and plans testing of several hundred acres starting near Cameron. The company has 6500 acres of leases, drills on Sam Brooks farm at a 1500 foot test, and seeks 17000 dollars in capital stock. Petroleum geologist Ralph A. Keaton joins to advise on upper cretaceous formations and Woodbine prospects.

Judge W C Davis of Bryan spent last week in Cameron acting as district judge for Judge Watson who was disqualified in a murder trial at Franklin. Davis is a welcome visitor in Cameron and Milam county with many friends.

Milam County Soldier Returns From Camp Bowie

Max Schuriger of Milam County returns home after discharge from Camp Bowie. He served in the 36th Division and fought in the second battle of the Marne and the Argonne. He suffered a severe shoulder wound and was exposed to gas during the war.
