Funeral services for George Washington Pratt 83 died at home in Rice Community were held at the Rice church Saturday at 2 30. Longtime Milam county resident he was born June 4 1859 in Giles County Tennessee and died May 1 1942. He married twice first to Mary Louetta Cloud July 26 1876 and later to Martha Elizabeth Baker November 1 1893. Surviving children include Samuel C Pratt H H Pratt F A Pratt and Mrs Jeff Cochran from the first marriage and Mrs W R Isabell Mrs R L Bollinger Mrs H T McFarland Mrs W A Bolling and Mrs B E L Chasteen from the second. Described as a beloved neighbor and pioneer, Pratt left 90 descendants and was interred on Saturday in the nearby soil he loved.
