Jaro F. Matula was inducted into the U S Army on November 9 1942 and trained at Camp Robinson California and Little Rock Arkansas. He transferred to Camp Stoneman California and serves in the Transportation Corps attached to the Headquarters Personnel Office. He is the son of Mr and Mrs Felix C Matula of Cameron, formerly employed at Stewart Grocery and the Cameron U S Post Office.

Private George Goodwin Killed in Action in World War II
PFC George Goodwin was killed in action in Luxembourg on December 24 1944 after being wounded on September 29 1944. He had earlier been missing in action before the war news confirmed his death and posthumous Purple Heart. Goodwin grew up near Cameron attended Maysfield school and worked at Cameron stores and Stewart Grocery before enlisting.

Hlavacek Assigned to RAF Redistribution Station at Camp Davis
Pfc. William A. Hlavacek, son of Mrs. Henry Hlavacek of Cameron, has been assigned to the RAF redistribution station and convalescent hospital at Camp Davis North Carolina. He will work in the supply division after serving since 1942 with overseas duty in the Caribbean area. Prior postings included Kelly Field Pinecastle Field and Brookley Field. He attended Cameron High School and worked in the stock records section at Kelly Field before entering service. Camp Davis is the newest installation of the AAF Personnel Distribution Command handling redistribution of all Air Forces returnees and control of convalescent hospitals and overseas replacement depots.
