Carl Phipps 39 a World War veteran died from head wound suffered when his shotgun discharged as he attempted to pass a fence in a pasture near Maysfield while hunting from Cameron across to his mother's home. Silas Coker found him. inquest by Justice John Thweatt. Survivors include widow and three children. funeral at First Baptist Cameron with Coleman Funeral Home.
Chairman Judd G. Davis announces that Senator Ross Hardin and Representative Ross Harkin will visit Cameron on Thursday night April 6 to discuss the Old Age Pension. The Hardin twins, joined by their Hill Billy musicians, will perform at Yee High School auditorium.
Owen Stidham and Morris Weems both 17 were arrested Thursday for burglary tied to three robberies on Wednesday night and Thursday morning. Stidham was caught after entering Lilly Ice Cream via skylight. coins and a senior class ring plus other items were found at scenes. Both teens were released to their parents pending a judge hearing.

John Alexander, 37, of San Saba county, died of a heart attack in Cameron street near the courthouse at 10:15 a m Sunday. He had arrived with cedar posts and fell striking a timber causing a skull fracture. Deputy Sheriff Dan Gunn arranged the body’s disposition and Green Funeral Home escorted the body to San Saba for burial.
Sam McDermott, a member of the Board of Alderman, announced his candidacy for re election in the city election on April 4. Supporters praise his conservative policies and steady administration while he pledges to continue hard work for a safe city and hoped tax relief for business and property owners.
Baylor University will present an Easter program titled The Seven Last Words at First Methodist church in Cameron on Tuesday evening April 4 at 7 45. A mixed ensemble of twenty Baylor voices directed by Miss Martha Barkemu will perform with soloist Bully Triggs, son of Mr and Mrs A Triggs of Cameron, noted as a Baylor student. It will be the first time such a program is given in Cameron.

Cameron's Yoe High School band of seventy travels to Huntsville for the state band contest Saturday. They will perform in concert playing sight reading and marching with nine soloists four instrumental ensembles and a drum major twirl. Last year they won first division in all three events and aim to repeat.
Judge Jeff T. Kemp cast the deciding ballot after a 2 2 county commission vote to call a prohibition election for Monday April 10. Commissioners Stiles and McGuyer voted for, Stidham and McMillion against, canvassing the petition over Friday afternoon in the county clerk’s office. Mrs. J. R.
