Florida Jersey cows arrive to bolster Central Texas dairy boom

Five truckloads of registered Jersey cows were delivered to the J. K. Stuart Dairy northwest of Cameron and put into production in a nearly completed Milk Parlor. The operation aims to modernize Milam County dairying with automated milking and expansion plans. A patient in St. Edwards Hospital followed an appendectomy.

Milam Cattlemen Donate Toward Screwworm Brucellosis Fight

Milam County cattlemen have donated 5911 to reach a total of 5911 for the statewide Screwworm and Brucellosis Program. Contributions fund the Southwest Animal Health Research Foundation which will release sterile male flies to curb Screwworm reproduction. Petitions seek 75 percent of cattle owners representing 51 percent of Milam County cattle for a Brucellosis hearing and elimination plan.

Election Set for Cameron ISD at Ada Henderson
