J Z Young Machinist Mate Second Class was killed in action in the South Pacific on December 8 1948 aboard an American destroyer. He enlisted March 15 1942 while living in Hearne and owned Hearne Auto Supply Store. Survived by Mrs Juanita Young nee Thomas of Gause, his mother the late Mrs J Z Young, a Cameron sister Mrs Leland Green Jr and brother Ray Lyman Young.

Cameron Man Faces Knife Attack Charge
Jack Dockery was jailed awaiting possible assault with intent to murder charges after a knife attack on his wife Mrs. Dockery Wednesday night. Deputy Black and Officers McGoldrick and Huffman arrested him at the home. Mrs. Dockery suffered permanent injuries to her left wrist and was taken to Cameron Hospital for treatment.
