Hints On Lawn Care From A&M Specialist
A&M specialist E. M. Trew advises on planning a lush lawn this summer with proper management. Fertilize per soil tests or use a complete mix to supply two pounds of nitrogen per thousand square feet, time applications with growth, and topdress with nitrogen every 39 to 40 days. Control weeds with dense growth or chemicals from L425, and mow Bermudagrass 1 to 1 1/2 inches, St Augustine and bluegrass 1 1/2 to 2 inches, removing no more than one inch per cut. Water when wilted, soaking to at least 6 inches. County agents can provide more lawn care information.
