Tongate to umpire Western League after Cameron move
James M. Tongate district office manager for the Texas Cotton Co Operative Association will leave Cameron on March 5 to umpire professional baseball in the Western League. His successor is to arrive this week as the office stays open. Tongate will begin with Southwestern Conference games and exhibition Texas League duties for Galveston before joining the Western Association season. He will return to Cameron after the season ends. He thanks Cameron and Milam County citizens for support and urges continued cooperation with the Federal Farm Board and the Texas Cotton Co operative Association.
