Blackland Research Vital To BIG Program, Farmer Says
Ray Sawyer of Hillsboro, a large scale cotton and grain sorghum producer, urged Texas A&M and state extension to tailor BIG research to the Blackland region. He praised BIG since 1961 and pushed for more studies on cotton root rot as part of a June 14 15 seminar at Texas A&M attended by about 100. The BIG program spans about 26 counties from south of Austin to Fort Worth and Dallas.
