Cameron receives midweek recognition in Fort Worth for the 1974 Ier's Beautification Award presented by Gov. Dolph Briscoe. The mall project, opened June 1974, anchors a year of city improvements that set Cameron apart in its size class and attract new industry and visitors.

Donations go to multiple banks, checks to Vickey Blakeney Memorial Fund. Bicentennial awards honor Cameron beautification progress and regional civic groups, highlighting city improvements since 1971.
The City of Cameron deposited a sales tax refund check for 8874.23 covering the period ending May 30, 1975. Refunds are now issued monthly rather than quarterly, with other towns such as Rockdale Rosebud Rogers Thorndale Hearne Caldwell Calvert also banking varying amounts.
Lions International district governor Joe Al Picone will install officers for the Cameron Evening Lions Cameron Noon Lions and Buckholts Lions Club at 7 30 p m Thursday June 19 at the Methodist Fellowship Hall.
Milam County Crops Committee chairs announce the 1975 Crops Tour for Tuesday morning June 24. The route includes twin seeded grain sorghum plots, new cold tolerant disease resistant cotton varieties, sunflowers, organically fertilized grain sorghum, and a catfish farm. Stops meet at 8:45 a.m. at the Cameron Post Office with stops at Jinks farm, Mays field bottom, Bill Arthur farm, Buckholts area, W. E. Beckhusen farm, and Joe Glaser farm. Local Texas A&M specialists and seed company reps will attend. tour open to all interested producers.
