SGT WM A LEWIS KILLED BY LIGHTNING IN FLORIDA
Tech Sgt William A Lewis 24 was killed by lightning at Sarasota Florida last night per Camp Martin wire. He was the son of Mr and Mrs William A Lewis Sr Route 1 Gause and survived by his widow who lives at Gause. After eight hours of artificial respiration and inhalator use revival efforts failed. He graduated Gause High School in 1935 and enlisted in October 1940.

Frank Horton Nichols joined the Navy as a volunteer in July 1942 at age 18. He is one of three Nichols brothers in the armed services, son of P. V. and Mrs. Nichols of Cameron, born in Fort Worth and raised in Cameron, a Yee High School graduate.

Belton publisher and editor F B Russell 55 longtime civic leader died Friday after two heart attacks. Funeral Sunday at 3 p m at the Methodist church. burial in North Belton cemetery. He edited the Belton Journal since 1927 and previously ran a Teague paper. He collected about 17 600 archaeology pieces and led local civic groups.
