Census Count in Cameron 1950 Prompts City Dither
The Cameron census of 1950 raises questions whether the count will exceed the 1940 figure of 5,048. War-time overcrowding had boosted population past 6,000, but unemployment since then caused decline. The Chamber of Commerce notes slow enumeration and mobilizes efforts to reach those not yet counted before the deadline. Local sub enumerator roles link Cameron with Marlin as steps to complete a full count.
