Leonard L. Blaylock former Milam County Sheriff died at his Cameron home shortly after 5 p m on May 29 1941 following years of declining health He served as deputy sheriff and sheriff of Milam County later worked for the Texas Comptroller’s Department He is survived by his widow six daughters four daughters and one son and a large extended family Funeral services were held May 30 1941 at First Baptist Church with interment at Oak Hill Cemetery Blaylock a longtime Texas peace officer was born September 22 1874 in Raleigh NC and moved to Milam County as a child

American Legion men in New York assisted by the Sheriff raided a German American Bund office Saturday. They arrested its leader after finding Hitler pictures and extensive propaganda. Officials say the Bund operated a school to train youths for industry, but the agent acted as a Hitler agent. The raid followed slow local action to suppress the Bund, with veterans of 1917-18 helping to dismantle a second Bund chapter.
County agent J W Stufflebeme announces free access to hopper poison for farmers in the Maysfield area. The government will fund half the bran for mixing the poison and farmers may obtain supplies from Mr Stufflebeme. He cautions timely control though expects limited damage.
