Gregory Hatcher Opposes Tax Cut at Automatic Tax Board
At a July 19 meeting in the Governor's Office the Automatic Tax Board considered reducing the tax rate from 7.7c to 6.5c per $100 valuation. Gregory Hatcher voted against the cut, citing potential revenue losses exceeding 3.6 million dollars annually and funds needed to sustain public schools for six months. He said he would sign the minutes only after his objections were included.
