Official tallies from Milam County led by W G Gillis show a large vote in the Saturday July 4 1926 primary. Quinn Walker tops county officials with L B Fikes close second. statewide races include Verguson Moody Irwin Terrell and Gillis among others with varied tallies and multiple precinct results.

Justice of the peace Ed F English of Cameron was seriously hurt after a fall on the sidewalk near the First National Bank. He suffered a broken nose and knee cap, was hospitalized, and is slowly recovering after winning re election in the recent primary over J M Ralston. age worsens his injuries.
