Red Cross Seeks Summer Blood Donors in Cameron
The American Red Cross urges donors to give during summer. The Bloodmobile will be at Cameron Methodist Fellowship Hall on Wednesday July 25 from 12 to 6 pm with a 75 unit quota. Donors 18 and older may give. under 21 may need parental consent in some states. Donor health and safety noted. donations take about 40 minutes total. Milam County residents are reminded blood can be replaced by the Red Cross Blood Bank. One unit may be separated into red cells platelets plasma and cryoprecipitate for multiple patients.

The Cameron Police Department runs a free three night driver license school at Yee High School in Cameron on August 17 20 and 21. Classes start at 7 30 p m with no charge for attendees over 18 without a license. The program aims to help unlicensed drivers study traffic rules to qualify for a Texas operators license. Aggravated assault charged in Rogers incident on Yarrellton road
Raymond McDowell of Rogers faces charges of assault on Walter J. Palmer of North Carolina after picking him up in Temple and driving toward Yarrellton road. Palmer, a National Guard member, was struck twice with a soft drink bottle when he got out. He was treated at St. Edward Hospital, then airlifted to Darnall Army Hospital at Fort Hood and released. A separate town meeting on Cameron planning, with five minute talks and a citizen questionnaire, is set for Thursday night at 7 30 p m at Methodist Fellowship Hall.
