B P Atkinson of Austin former resident here was critically injured Saturday afternoon near Elgin when his car left the highway plunged off an embankment and struck a tree. He was found unconscious and rushed to Elgin then to Austin. A man picked up by Atkinson on the highway was detained for questioning.
