Funeral services for Mrs. F A Durnie 84 die at her Curry Community home July 4 1944 will be at First Presbyterian Church 4 p m Thursday July 6 Rev John Solomon to conduct with interment at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cameron She born Buffalo NY July 26 1860 came to Milam county and lived in Curry since 1910 survived by two sons Frank B Durnie Emil C Durnie five grandchildren one great grandchild and body to lie in state at Green Funeral Home in Cameron until the funeral hour Thursday.

Liberty observes Homecoming Day each July since 1914 with the first celebration in July 1914. The Liberty Cemetery Association, founded about 30 years ago, lists Mrs. J W Lantrip as a founder and names early officers including Mrs. G W Miller deceased as president and Mrs. Edna Davison and Mrs. J K Miller as officers. Land for the cemetery was donated by the late Thomas Kirk and Dan Miller donated church land.
