Citizens National Bank announces 1936 officers and directors. Niley Smith joins the board replacing the late C W Lawrence, Frank Monroe fills the late Ellora Monroe seat, Oxsheer Smith remains president, W C Newton is VP, and other officers we re elected. Mr and Mrs Oxsheer Smith attended the Grand Opera in Dallas.
Dr C G Swift is appointed secretary for the division of obstetrics and gynecology by Dr H R Dudgeon president of the State Medical Society. He will organize convention papers and take office in May after moving to Candaran to practice in the former Monroe building.
Matyastik and Sons announce the reopening of their feed mill on Buckholts road entering town. The mill will grind all kinds of feed on Monday Thursday and Saturday.
Cameron citizen and businessman Roy Griffith announces his candidacy for Alderman Place No 1 in the Democratic primary on February 4. He states he has no opponent and pledges to serve the people who elect him with independence and no allegiance to any faction.
Expansion of the Cameron Band to include more students requires about 600 for new uniforms and equipment. A Band Parents Association committee plans a fundraising entertainment on February 4 at Yee High School auditorium. Certificates of loyalty will be awarded to contributors, with printed testimonials suitable for framing.
Stafford, assessor and collector of taxes for the City of Cameron, announces candidacy for reelection in the Democratic primary on February 4 1946. He has no opponent and seeks a second term, thanking residents for their support and good will.
Edwin Radtke eighteen was killed instantly in a Sunday car wreck on the highway near Ben Arnold at about 2 a m. Seven others, including Joe Zasick Raymond Zasick Steve Ticktock Adolph Jones Dennis Tomasek and an unnamed passenger, were injured lightly or moderately after the Terraplane overturned and all were thrown from the vehicle. The crash occurred as the car veered to avoid another machine. Radtke died from a broken neck and facial injuries. Funeral services were held Monday at 8 from his mother's home conducted by Rev N F Timmerman. he is survived by his mother two sisters and two brothers.
