Seaman Recruit Michael Allen Allison, son of Mr and Mrs Eddie Allison of Cameron, is undergoing nine weeks of basic training at the Naval Training Center in San Diego. He receives instruction in naval customs, ordnance and gunnery, seamanship, damage control, first aid, swimming and survival, shipboard drills and sentry duty. Physical fitness and inspections maintain alertness while training. Classification tests will decide his post graduation assignment.
