Lone Star Gas Signs Big West Texas Gas Project
Lone Star Gas Company and Amoco Production Company sign a long term pact to explore 225000 acres in Sutton Schleicher Crockett Edwards and Val Verde counties. Potential gas in place could exceed 500 billion cubic feet with Can yon San series sands at depths of 3000 to 8000 feet. Six Guardsmen Visit Germany on Exchange Tour
Six Central Texas Guardsmen of the 3d Bn Abn 143d Infantry toured Germany for 17 days in a Troop Exchange Program with the FRG Army. They visited schools in Schon gau Verden and Frankfurt and observed training including a two battalion tank exercise and river bridge construction. The group met German troops at the 100th Long Range Patrol Company and appeared on a radio TV program before returning to Texas.
