Mr Reid cashier of Citizens National Bank and native of Cameron was elected secretary of the Fourth District Association of Texas Bankers at the meeting held in Waco He has served as cashier for several years and is recognized as one of the rising young bankers in Texas.
A new market and grocery store will open in Buckholts on Saturday owned by Steve Burtis Jr. The shop will be in the FE J Kahler building formerly used as the post office with hot coffee served all day a community opening noted by locals.
Buckholts businessman B M McMillion announces his candidacy for Commissioner of Precinct No 1 Milam County in the Democratic Primary to be held July 25 1936. He notes his prior 1934 primary run off with Walter Fuchs and thanks supporters while asking for renewed votes.
Daniel Boone, well known figure and farmer, is a candidate for Commissioner of Justice Precincts 6 and 7. The Democratic party backs Boone as he resides on a farm and advances political action planned for Saturday July 25.
Frank Tirey of Waco, noted public official, attorney and farmer, announced his candidacy for Congress in the Eleventh District. A Baylor and UT Law graduate, Tirey served as prosecuting attorney in McLennan County and as a special assistant U S attorney during the war. He seeks to succeed Rep. Melennan and pledges Texan leadership in a crowded race.
Florence addresses S00 bankers in Waco Texas at the annual meeting. He is president of the Texas Bankers Association and of the Republic National Bank and Trust Company Dallas. He notes the national administration has not pushed legislation harming business, indicating improving conditions. He hopes agriculture will receive proper consideration from business interests and Congress.
The Colored Play Ground and Day Nursery seeks permanent support from Cameron citizens through a conservative yearly budget of about 900 dollars. Initiated January 9, 1934 by a Young Women’s Recreation Club, the program grew with Chamber of Commerce backing and church representation on the board.

Floydada pastor McClane will preach at the Cameron Baptist church Sunday, announced by BR. N. Duckworth, educational director. The local church has been without a pastor since Rev. N. D. Timmerman resigned to take a ministry in Mississippi.
Leland Green Jr announces March food sale at Green and Boedeker's Cameron store. The foods department head promotes the campaign running through the month with enhanced marketing and faster service as the firm expands its showroom and business. The firm opened three years ago in Fe Town and now operates a new mansion in 1084 and 1935.
The note confirms Harry Brent is back at the Cameron Safeway Store after a six year absence. Ray Burke led the store in his absence while Brent resumes duties, praised as a popular and capable businessman. A noon measure is planned to inform Herald readers about the change.
