Alcoa Restarts Potline at Rockdale Works
Alcoa's Rockdale Works restarted the second of two potlines idled in mid December due to a power shortage. Line No 3 reactivation is planned for today, boosting output to 255000 tons annually or 88 percent of capacity. After this week only one potline will be inactive. The Belton Jaycees Rattlesnake Hunt and Antique Flea Market occurs March 3 4 at Trade Square Penelope Street Central Avenue with kiddie rides food concessions rattlesnake dinner and a Fort Worth Venomaires show each hour.

Marijuana seized from car near Georgetown stop
Officers stopped a car seven miles north of Georgetown for speeding. They found approximately 150 pounds of marijuana worth up to 200000 dollars inside the vehicle driven by two St Louis men. Highway Patrolmen Ervin Newman and Steve Benton observed a passenger conceal a item before the stop and detected the odor of marijuana and an automatic pistol on the seat.

Counterfeit $20 Bills Found in Temple Area
Four counterfeit twenty dollar bills surfaced in Temple and police urged vigilance. Sgt. W. T. Jackson said the fakes appeared very good and professional. Temple National Bank turned over three notes received with retail deposits to aid the probe.

Speeding Nets Sentence for Burleson County Reckless Driving

Red Ball Project Aims Populated Safety Labels
Cameron Volunteer Firemen launch Operation Red Ball to place red circle stickers on homes with invalids elderly or small children. Stickers distributed at fire station or by firemen. one sticker on the door, another on the bedroom window for visibility.
