Move to Consolidate the Texas Prisons
Austin Texas Feb 3 The Texas Legislature reports favorably about nearly fifty bills in both houses with key items including a plan to reform the fee system and a push to consolidate Huntsville and Rusk prisons to cut salaries. Other issues include A M College and State University separation, interurban railroads under the Railroad Commission, Lanham county creation, Robertson Insurance repeal, Jefferson state creation resolution, and a four state split proposal. About 300 lobbyists are registered as lawmakers consider these measures.

Judge Thomas of Columbus Nebraska ruled that a subscriber who accepts a paper must pay for it in a case the Columbus Telegram filed for 235 dollars after the recipient refused payment. The decision applies the old common law principle that what is received must be paid for.
