Dimes For Polio Less Than in '55 Workers Praised
The March of Dimes year this year has raised less money than last year yet many people helped. Milam County supports 16 polio patients with aid from the campaign. Cameron Independent School District sold 225000 in bonds at 3.13 percent average interest for 20 year maturities. Rotan-Mosse and Company led 14 bids with John Brandenberger as fiscal agent noting improved credit and longer pay out period. Final plans for O J Thomas grounds construction expected in about 30 days with bids to follow.

Weather radio drops in Senkel yard Tuesday
Mr and Mrs Walter Senkel of Jones Prairie road found a radiosonder in their yard around 2 30 pm Tuesday. The device floated down from a balloon launched by the Weather Bureau in San Antonio and transmitted temperature humidity and pressure to KMIL. Finders were asked to mail the box back to the Weather Bureau in San Antonio.

Burglars Take Nineteen Cases From Rockdale Liquor Store
Sometime before daylight Friday morning the Weems Liquor Store on highway 79 in Rockdale was burglarized of nineteen cases of half pint liquor. Sheriff Carl Black reported the thieves pried open the door and escaped with the loot leaving little trace for investigators. Cecil Donovan, 22, Caldwell, held and questioned after being picked up in Temple following a separate knife incident at a grocery store last week.

City Implements Charter Moves Closer To Airport Settlement
Cameron adopts charter implementing council changes and an interim budget. Mayor Horstmann to certify charter with Secretary of State. The council tentatively accepts a contract with Harry Rogers as Airport Manager and selects two of five nominees for a Board of Equalizators. Bush Construction Company wins a $3,302 bid to extend the water main and add six fire hydrants. Disbursements and income for six months are forecast around $39,950 and $41,100 respectively.

Anna Marie Perry of Milam County sues Mutual Benefit Health and Accident Association of Omaha for 6540 alleging full premium payment and permanent disability from a December 1953 crash on Highway 79 near Hearne Texas. The case moved from Milam District Court to the U S District Court at Waco per defendant petition grant.
