Frank Edwinn, noted American basso and scholar of music literature, will perform a recital February 18 at Yee High School Auditorium at 8 8 p m. Critics praise his voice stage presence and interpretive skill while noting his views on American folk music and the value of literature in training singers.

Coggin Couple Welcome Baby Daughter at St Edward

Mr and Mrs M E Coggin of Route 1 Gause celebrate the birth of a daughter on February 2 1950 at St Edward Hospital The infant weighed three pounds nine ounces and is reported in good condition at the hospital.

Four nominated for Texas State Bar president in Corpus Christi

A. N. Green former House member won the Democratic mayoral nomination defeating Mayor Roy Griffith by eleven votes. Green faces a council that backed Griffiths tax stance while outlining sewer system needs and potential funding through bonds or new taxes amid plans to build a new disposal facility.

Cameron Yeomen secure their ninth straight win 45 15 to claim the district title for the third year in a row. Alton Fuchs scored 23 and Frank Malone 9 as the Yoelets held Rosebud without a field goal and the reserves played much of the second half. Jim McGoldrick led a three candidate field for City Marshal in the Tuesday primary with 544 votes. Joe Richter trailed by three votes at 541 while Terry received 199. A possible run off depends on Executive Committee action to provide for majority nomination. no run off order is specified.

Waco Man Injured When Car Skids Into Bridge

Smith Dosher of Waco sustained minor injuries after his car struck the right hand bridge banister on Highway 36 near MacLerran hill. He said wet pavement caused skidding as he braked to avoid an oncoming car. he was taken to Cameron for treatment and later released. Highway Patrolman Jack Higginbotham investigated. vehicle damage described as severe.

Milam Lions to Lead X Ray Drive Across County

Milam County Lions Clubs will lead a countywide x ray survey in March with Rockdale and Thorndale as regional chairs and Cameron under L G Smith. The Milam health unit directed by Dr Freeman cooperates as the unit stations are announced for Cameron Rockdale and Thorndale dates March 17 to April 1.

Three industry groups oil and gas sulphur and liquor dealers agreed to support an omnibus tax rise to fund mental hospital costs. Officials urged a measured increase up to 10 percent, with talks of a 15 percent overall rise and a possible penny per pack cigarette tax.

One Gar Stolen and Another Pilfered in City Neighbourhood

A 1950 black four door Ford owned by Dr. T. L. Denson was stolen Monday night from beside his Den son residence on East 11th street. Officials hunt for the car with a radio broadcast by Highway Patrolman Jack Higginbotham. A 1948 Nash owned by Dr. J. L. Walker was entered and searched on Jackson Street. valuables remained undisturbed as the car was pushed into the street.

Leonard and Jack Richardson of Memphis Tennessee spent several days in Cameron visiting their aunt Mrs Velma Quillin and cousin Mrs Ada Pratt.
