W. W. Chambers has been nominated by the Democrats for Mayor and will take office in April. The primary produced 1166 votes, with B. Slocomb short of a majority for City Marshal by 68 votes. Geo. Missouri Pacific Plans Excursion to Rio Grande Valley

B T Harris, local Missouri Pacific agent, presents a goodwill train plan to the commercial and Lions clubs for a February 21 trip to the lower Rio Grande Valley. The schedule includes departures from Waco at 5 p m and Edenburg arrival next morning, with stops at Cameron Harlingen and Browns ville, returning February 23. Round trip costs about 75 percent of the one way fare, contingent on line enthusiasm.

Ketonen Retains Title By Defeating Karhunsaari In Cameron

Ketonen regains his championship by winning a three fall match here Tuesday night over Karhunsaari. Karhunsaari took the first fall in ten minutes, but Ketonen captured the next two falls. Referee McElwrath ruled Ketonen the winner after Karhunsaari claimed a kick in the last fall, and Ketonen was awarded the decision amid the Finn’s exit from the ring.
