No More Cotton Insurance To Be Accepted On 1957 Crops Here
Joe C. Denson, a crop insurance agent for Milam County, said the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation will not accept any new 1957 cotton insurance applications in Milam, Williamson, Travis, and Bell Counties. More than 525 farms will be insured for 1957 when 220 new policies plus carry-overs are counted. Carry-over policies from 1956 and all existing 1957 policies will remain in force.

Poll tax receipts in Cameron City reached 761 percent of 1956 presidential year figures and Milam County hit 71.5 percent.
