Little Theodore Fulcher Drowns After River Rafting Accident
The nine year old Theodore Fulcher of Thorndale died when a makeshift raft overturned while he and other boys rode across a slough near Brushy Creek. Rescue efforts by M. E. Lincoln were followed by the body being recovered by Sharp Young around 5 pm. Interment was held at Locklin cemetery with large community attendance as schools closed for the day.

A thief entered Drury and Sons on Main Street last Friday night and stole 18 or 20 revolvers valued at about $210. The intruder entered via the rear warehouse, accessed the stock bin, and escaped without leaving clues or taking other items.

Milam County Pioneer W. J. Gause Dies at 84
Major W. J. Gause, a Milam County stock raiser and longtime resident of Gause, died last Friday at about 10 a.m. He was born November 26 1829 in Montgomery County Alabama and moved to Texas in 1872 after donating 100 acres to locate the town of Gause. He left five children and was active in the Methodist church and local civic affairs. His wife had died in 1894.

Dr Frank Rainey veteran physician and Mosonic official died at 79 after six months illness in Austin. He led the Beate School for Blind and the Masonic Home for Widows and aged remarks say he was active in Masonic circles. His funeral will be held in Austin with local Masonic orders conducting.
