Conditions Ideal For Chaining Mesquite Brush

Heavy fall rains create near ideal conditions for chaining mesquite by using two or three crawler tractors to pull a 400 foot chain weighing up to 36,000 pounds. Chaining works best when soil is wet and trees are dormant, with dry soil causing sprouting next year. Pairing aerial spraying with 2,4,5-T or Banvel followed by chaining after one to three years yields low-cost, effective control and opens up vast range lands.

Get Cotton Seed Tested For Low Fatty Acid

Cotton farmers saving seed from 1974 should ensure high germination and low free fatty acid. Experts say acids above 1 percent signal seed deterioration, worsened by wet weather and poor storage. Seed with low acids does not guarantee top quality, and seeds with 2 percent or more should not be saved for planting.
