Rockdalian Bond Set After Collision Headed by Rockdale Victim
Funeral services for Julia Trevino DeLeon 31 of Rockdale were held Monday after a head on crash at Little River Bridge Saturday. Involved driver Jimmy Galvan 31 Rockdale posted 3000 bond on involuntary manslaughter charges. JP Jess Brock arraigned. Two passengers from DeLeon vehicle were hospitalized in Cameron. An appeal for blood donations is underway for five year old Rhonda Talafuse who remains comatose from October accident near Shelby. she was moved to Scott and White Temple for ongoing care.

Auto on Highway 945 Damages Guard Rail
A 1971 Ford driven by Doris Blue of Route 3 Cameron skidded on a bridge on Highway 945 near Walkers Creek and struck the guard rail. The car rested on the embankment. the right side and guard rail suffered heavy damage. The driver was not injured.

Burglars Steal Christmas Presents From Abilene Home
An Abilene truck driver reports $300 in Christmas gifts stolen from his home after burglars entered through a bathroom window. A CB radio, digital clock and camera were among items taken. The family still has a Christmas tree as they plan to replace gifts soon.

Head On Collision Injures Five Near Cameron
A head on collision about one and a half miles from Cameron at 11 50 a m Monday sent five people to area hospitals. Sandra Brice of Rt 2 Rockdale drove a 1977 Chevrolet. Betty Bullock of Milano drove the other car. Passengers Judy Anderson Jerry Griffith and Leslie Boggan were in Brice's car. They were taken to St Edward's Hospital. Bullock to Newton Hospital. All injured were reported in good condition. Milton Wright investigated.

Milam County Commissioners approved $3,665 to rebinding worn volumes with indexes and county records by J. W. Dolly Company of Burnet, paid in two installments. They reimbursed the City of Rockdale $1,154 for welfare office rent and utilities, approved a $15 Christmas bonus for county employees, appointed Dr. Sidney H. Richardson as County Health Officer, and named Walter Pyle and Richard Crowe to the Cameron Milam County Airport Zoning Board. They also asked Auditor Andres to seek bids for new typewriters for the Tax Assessor’s office and heard on unemployment compensation options with the Texas Employment Commission. The board plans to reconvene Thursday at 9.
