Power Plant Wreck Triggers Citywide Blackout in Cameron
A steam engine at Cameron Water Power and Light exploded causing a full city blackout. Supt. Cone narrowly escaped injury as engine parts and a bent pipe flew. Water was cut to protect the city and reliance shifted to gas and old diesel engines. Efforts to restore service included securing a spare dynamo from Bonham and using a LaFrance fire engine to pump water. Restoration aimed for Saturday while mid January awaited the main shaft repair in Milwaukee. A. W. Luckett aided the Herald and Enterprise during the outage.

Exas Wins In Boundary Fight Between Texas and Oklahoma
Washington reports the United States will not back Oklahoma on the 6400 acre Burkburnett field claim, a Texas victory in the boundary dispute. The issue centers on whether the Red River boundary lies in the center or on the south bank and whether minor river changes since 1875 alter ownership of wells. Nebeker will inspect the ground and may back Oklahoma on shifts since 1875 if pursued.
