Rome Aug 22 authorities announced the private burial of Pope Pius X. The body in pontifical robes was moved by red uniformed pallbearers to the Chapel of the Blessed Sacrament in St Peter's as thousands viewed the solemn rites. The will dated 1911 and amended in later years left 20000 to his immediate family and 2400 to his nephew with conditions from his successor. He wrote I was born poor and lived poor and I wish to die poor.

R W Darwin of Cameron visited to load cotton seed for Cameron Cotton Oil Mill. Two cars carried 61 tons. A show Tuesday night drew a crowd. Baseball fans heard complaints at the Waco Houston game. Young women work in cotton fields as King Cotton thrives. Misses Rena and Anna Yardley left for visits in Waco Dallas Arlington with return routes through Marlin and Temple. Mr Homa McClendon to head Copeland school next term. Otto Boecker back home after crop gathering and Cameron Sanitarium stay. Sunday schools and church services planned. Brother Murrell expected.

In Paris on August 25 at 3 30 p m crowds cheered American unit bands and the Stars and Stripes as 200 volunteers marched with the French tricolor toward the St Lazare station to catch a train for Boulogne.
