Five charged after Sharp Store robbery
Milam County Sheriff Carl Black charged five suspects from Waco in the Sharp store robbery that netted about 500 dollars in groceries and dry goods last Wednesday night. The arrested are Joe A Mata Mary Ann Mata Phil Lopez George Mata and Martin Rios. Mrs Mata posted 1000 bail while the four men remain in Milam County Jail.

Services Friday For Gib Terry 75 After Auto Crash
Gilbert G. Terry a Minerva resident died from injuries after a three car collision near Cameron on August 16. He served as chairman of the county ASC Committee for six years and had been involved with the program for 20 years. Funeral services were held at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Chapel in Rockdale with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Survivors include his wife a son a daughter two brothers three sisters and several relatives.

Fire department battles six alarms in Cameron week
Cameron Fire Marshal John Eanes urged residents to clean lots and check homes after six alarms last week. Fires included a 1950 Studebaker on Arm strong Used Car lot and a neon sign at Berniece's Dress Shop, plus grass and wiring fires. He warned to extinguish fires fully and promised inspections to find danger spots.

New Orders Limit Guard Enlistments
